Cork leather: the vegan alternative to real and artificial leather
Our leather is extracted from the heart of the bark of cork oak many of Montado region in Portugal. No animal, no human being or any tree must die.Because our cork leather is vegan and extremely ecological. The peeling of the bark does not matter to the trees; it is a natural process.
The product can be processed and used like ordinary leather. Because of its nano-surface, cork leather as well as genuine leather is water-repellent and extremely abrasion-resistant.
Compared to artificial leather, our product has the clear advantage that it has been produced without the use of toxic chromium compounds. In addition, our leather is completely manufactured and distributed in the EU, shipping is from disabled workshops. In this way, we can guarantee that there will be no people suffering from Third World countries.
Structure and texture of the material
Korkstoff is soft, durable and has an incomparable feel. We therefore recommend to everyone who likes to work with leather and fabrics once to order a small piece to make a feeling: they will not want to let go. Because: cork leather naturally reflects the body's warmth and conveys the feeling that it is exactly there.
Of course, no animal ingredients are included! The upper layer is applied to a backing material to make it easier to process and remain stable and robust. This is made of either polyester fabric or natural cotton.
